‘Outsourcing’ is one of those words that many people have an opinion on. Most associate this word with getting your work completed overseas, probably to a low standard.
But that doesn’t have to be the case!
Below are three local businesses that you can outsource your work to (besides us, of course!) for a high-quality end result.
1. Nudge Accounting
I am absolutely in love with these guys. They are based in Sydney, but work remotely with Xero and MYOB Live.
In small business, you need an accountant that you can trust, that gets your business and will keep you in the loop of what’s going on. Emma, Mark and Aaron are a refreshing change to your old-school accountant. They work with you to understand your business, provide you with monthly reports so that you can make good business decisions, and answer all of your questions… all without stepping foot in your office (or you, theirs!)
Since Emma took over my business accounts, my time has been freed up so I can deal with the things I’m good at… the other administration tasks!
2. The Silent Partner
Phone answering is a tricky business. While some of our VAs are available to do this type of work, it’s not suited to our business model in most cases.
This is where The Silent Partner come in. They operate a small call centre with a roster of dedicated staff, answering phone calls for small businesses around Australia.
Their computer system tells their employees which business the client is calling, how to answer the call and ultimately direct their enquiry… talk about technology!
You can even get your own phone number with them, if you need one.
If you ever call The Virtual Assistant and I’m not the one answering, you can guarantee it’s The Silent Partner helping me out.
3. Airtasker
Got a small, one-off task you need assistance with? Head to Airtasker.
Their ebay-like feedback system makes it really easy to choose from those pitching to take on your task.
I’ve only ever used Airtasker for smaller tasks like urgent document delivery or to surprise a client (who doesn’t want to receive surprise cupcakes?), but each time the task has been completed perfectly and I couldn’t be happier.
Over to you: what do you think when you hear the word ‘outsourcing’? Who do you recommend to ‘outsource locally’ to?
Cheers,
Liz.
