On International Women’s Day, we reflect on how far we have come, and look forward to see how far we have to go. This video, while over a year old now, contains a very relevant and important message. How do we look after our leaders of the future? At the moment, we’re sending them the wrong message.
I am very lucky to be able to run The Virtual Assistant with my husband and be treated as an equal in the community. That sexism I experienced as a young adult in the workforce only pushed me to prove people wrong, rather than keep me in the place people thought I belonged. And that more recently, I have been surrounded by strong, amazing women as role models.
I am proud that I now run a business that supports men and women across Australia in their own small businesses, and I only hope to improve our reach in the coming years.
Happy International Women’s Day to all the women out there. We have achieved so much, and we are only limited by our own ambitions.
